v6 Genesis vs s14

i have not seen any videos or heard of anyone w an s14 race a V6 Genesis so im wonderin what would be the turn out to that race..

I happened to be at a recent dyno of a V6 with intake and exhaust I believe. Put down 276 rwhp. Nice!

Um the turbo 4 will clown a stock S14. Leave it in its tracks. My friend, CONES on here, has one and it runs pretty good. Another friend had a stock SR swapped hatch, but he sold it before he got to race the genesis. I think that would have been a pretty good race. CONES is supposed to be picking up his SR hatch with a T28 next week from DC. There are a couple V6 Genesis around here. Maybe well get to play with one, but that should be pretty close, unless his SR lays down ungodly numbers.

S14 SR20DET(Moderately Modded) > Genesis V6(Stock) > KA-T(Modded) > Genesis 2.0T(Stock) > S14 KA24DE(Moderately Modded)

These are guesstimates based on power-to-weight ratios and imaginary power specs. A ~300HP SR20DET powered S-chassis will beat a Genesis V6 just due to weight. A KA-T will almost always make the same or more horsepower than the stock Genesis 2.0T with way more torque. A naturally aspirated, fully ported, cammed, built KA24DE may edge out a stock Genesis 2.0T, but realistically how many of those do you see done right?

If you're wondering if the Genesis would make a good replacement for an S14 my opinion is that it wouldn't make a bad one. You get a 21st century chassis and 21st century engineering. They advertise it as a drift/track car. I've yet to hear of them blowing up (probably just a google search away though haha). The S14 still looks good and has swap kits for Chevy LS/LTs, Q45 V8s, SRs, RBs, VQs, and probably a few others. If you're looking for a project car look no further than an S-chassis Nissan!

Yeah the S chassis is the current affordable project drift car. The next one will be the z33 and g35. Then it will be the genesis and and the other VQ cars.

I'll be the first to say I would love a Genesis as a daily. I'd probably go with a 2.0T Track model. The SR20DET has taught us they have potential .

Between the Genesis and coming Toyota FT86, Nissan may be prompted to revive the S-chassis. These cars are nothing but good for the future of cheap FR sports cars.

Okay so lets take this into consideration. You want to know in a straight line how an s14 will fair against a Genesis Coupe V6. The Genesis coupe will weigh about 3500lbs with the average to possibly a little heavy driver. The engine is rated for 306 horsepower. Therefore the Genesis Coupe has about 11.4lbs/hp. The S14 with a modded KADE will likely have in the <200hp range so lets just throw 200hp out there to be optimistic. With the average to heavy driver the S14 will weigh in at about 2950lbs. That's 14.75lbs/hp. Clearly the modded KA is in the dust. Lets go to an SR. A fairly stock one will put out about 200hp on American pump gas and a CORRECTLY modded one is capable of 250-350 within reason. Most of the average SR joe blows on here are probably in the 250hp range but for fairness we will put it at 300hp. This puts the S14 at 9.8lbs/hp. Now this may seem like a huge advantage but take into account that the 300hp SR20DET isn't going to have nearly the torque curve of the 3.8L V6 Genesis engine. In simpler terms, it better more than just a 0-40 or 0-60ish race because the Genesis is going to wreck shop off of the line and all the way through 1st and 2nd. I have personally driven the 2.0T and the 3.8 and I can tell you that the 2.0T is quick but the 3.8 RIPS.

So basically if you are in a 240sx and you want to race a Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6 model, you better get your car to at least 300hp and go on a diet to get skinnier than the Genesis driver before you even think about it.

do you people not realize the genesis is HUNDREDS of pounds more than an s chassis?

the stock genesis is rated at like 300 IIRC, so probably about 260rwhp, basic SR swaps with front mount and mbc in a healthy state should put around 230-250rwhp.

any ka-t setup put together by someone smarter than a 5th grader will easily make 250rwhp.

c'mon guys, this should be common sense stuff on a forum like this. a lightly modded SR should be comparible to a stock/lightly modded genesis coupe with the v6.

a 350z is pretty much the exact same power and weight, so i'm pretty sure its safe to say if you win/lose to a stockish 350z, the outcome with the new genesis would be the same, just ask rhys millen.

Factory SR is putting out max 217hp unless you have the S15 version which almost nobody has especially on here.
That being said the MBC and front mount would add say 80-85hp?!? Numbers don't really add up that well. Please elaborate.

KAT will easily make that power for a short time....

stock SR put down about 170-180rwhp, and yes i'm claiming 1st hand perspective gains of nearly 100 horsepower without changing the turbo. crazy huh?

get someone who knows what the hell they're doing tuning a car, a good intercooler setup, an sr that actually runs properly, some 550's and you'll be surprised.

also FWIW 250rwhp on a ka-t setup is an absolute cakewalk.

and if you're making less than 300rwhp with 6+ cylinders, you're a complete retard, or the owner of a stockish hyundai genesis coupe, that should get walked upon by previously mentioned 250rwhp s-chassis

if you've dynoed your ls1 till its so hot/pissed off it only puts down 350rwhp with the boost bypass open, you're mikespeed and the neighbors next door are absolutely PISSED because its 3am, and the police who subsequently show up think its funny.

My friend in a G35 happened to race one and lost, his brother in his G37S couldn't keep up either we later caught up with the owner of the genesis and he said that he has everything that is shown at the end of this video
