Tail light fuse keeps blowing

Okay so I dont know if it's bad that I'm not surprised I'm posting on here again about problems with this car... So my tail light/dash light fuse continues to blow, I have 1157 bulbs in there for the tail/brake lights brake lights work fine at all times needed. I've looked into this a bit already before posting checked the "orange" wire behind the CD player, taped that off so it won't ground out, problem still exists.. Thanks in advance for the help.

What did you do to the car before the problem started? I.e. replaced bulbs, installed stereo, etc many times a new defective bulb creates a short and blows fuses while still performing correctly. Maybe a loose connection somewhere. So best bet go back to what you did before the fuse blew the first time.

Well it started the day I gutted the seats and back carpet. Still have all of that. But it was like 5 hours after I did that it started. Checked all around the hatch area and everything seems good looking back there. But the fuse blows wayyyy sooner than every 5 hours. It's very intermittent, like it blew once on me right as soon as I turned my lights on then another time was like 15 mins down the freeway it popped. No significant things seem to affect it more or less.

Either a bulb went bad and created a short somewhere, or you moved a wire when gutting it and created a short. You can narrow it down by turning the lights on, then headlights, then high beams, one turn signal at the time, etc. Check your bulbs as soon as it blows to see which one triggers the fuse.

Also leave each at least 5 minutes it might take a while to blow the fuse. Good luck bro!

cause when the fuse blew the very first time, a bulb blew, i had an 1157 in my driver side, and this unknown bulb (ive been to every parts store around my area to match it up, non have them, its a dual filament but the circle tabs on the bottom are not off set like the 1157 are they are even with each other, the parts stores have that style but none are dual filament) thats the bulb that blew out, replaced the fuse and bulb at the same time, and now the problem of it blowing frequently is here. i highly doubt its just because the bulb previous because i had no issues the past 3 weeks of owning it prior. but one night, the fuse blew and the bulb blew since then, its been down hill lol.

Bulbs on right and left tail lights should match. That's a start for you then, get a set of matching bulbs and try again.

Hopefully it has not being too long with the wrong bulb and you fried a wire somewhere, that would be the worst case, good luck.

Seen you missing your shifts around Conroe in front of Wal-Mart but your tail lights looked fixed. I was going to pull up next to you and say high but the blazer would not let me get in front of them to do so. I didn't know you had Jdm tails. Looked good as well as the stance and rims. We got to get you a bumper
