nice performance man
really suck that your engine gave up.....( but on the bright side, that means we will expect a way more powerful engine ... good luck and way to go

bought a built motor for round 3 of proam. blew the headgasket early in the morning. kept driving it. qualified 5th and finished 6th i believe.

motor was pulled and head sent off. it was warped.

been collecting some stuff. still waiting for more parts to show up next week. going back to stock clutch fan, ordered a new s13 sr shroud also. picked up an isis colder thermostat. apexi headgasket. and aem standalone management.

got my head back from scroggins. warped it at round 3. had it straightened out and pressure tested.

Thanks, I still have alot of plans for the car. I'm excited that the season is finally about to be over so I can relax a bit and focus more on the smaller details and clean the car up. I wanna get this thing legal and take it out on the weekends.

2013 V8 Build
I have I been busy for the past six months throwing way too much money into the car. I took the plunge and purchased a 2002 Ws6 LS1 motor, I decided the fit the car with a complete Fueled racing Swap Kit. The kit came with motor and trans mounts, driveshaft, moroso front sump oil pan and a modified oil pick up, stainless fuel lines with an inline fuel filter that feeds to my stock tank, stainless clutch lines with a willwood master cylinder, long tube headers with v-band collectors, oil filter relocation kit (i upgraded to a grex 4 port oil block with thermostat) and probably a few other things i’m forgetting. I would recommend this kit to anybody, very simple and the ls1 went in easier than any sr swap i’ve ever done.

During the first initial inspection of the newly acquired motor a found a bent and broken push rod. I decided to pull the heads off and have them pressure checked, cleaned, and resurfaced. I ordered some new Comp chromoly push rods, head gaskets, Arp head bolts, a few other small tidbits, and had the valve covers powder coated.

During some down time while the motor was at the machine shop i completely cleaned and sanded the entire inside and engine bay. i then laid down a nice coat of gloss black in the bay and interior and freshened up the roll cage in white.

I took the car over to NevrSlo performance in League City Texas, there Josh Steele has helped me along thru the entire processes of getting everything together and into the car. I purchased a fresh rebuilt t56 transmission and a brand new bellhousing. Spec also hooked me up with a brand new 6 puck clutch and aluminum flywheel, and i flashed up my Hurst shifter a bit, alothough i may upgrade shifters later down the road.

Above as you can see the motor is in, i fabricated a lot of things myself to save on cost. I made my own aluminum oil and coolant catch cans, 4 inch intake, modified my original sr20 radiator for the ls1 to keep a clean look instead of having a long radiator hose running thru the bay; and made a custom bolt in core support. After that i focused on my oil system with a 3qt Accusump oil accumulator, grex 4 port oil block with thermostat and oil pressure sending unit tie in, and an oil cooler with everything being plumbed in with stainless lines and an fittings for a clean look.

its 2013. that thing started up and had bad rings on one cylinder and either a bent valve or seal on another.

bought a bare long block sunday. got it all together and cleaned up. should be running again soon. gonna do a full build on the original motor. pistons rods cam valvetrain nitrous etc etc

some random pics of new motor and random shit i grabbed from my instagram.

alright i havent really kept this thread updated that well so ill make another post.

after the first motor was bad i decided to change alot of things and fix stuff that i didnt do the first time around.

1st off my cooling system
26x19 AFCO Dual pass radiator
I made my own surge tank setup, pulls steam from the back of each clyinder head and has a connecting cross over line that pulls from the front. im also pulling steam from the top of the radiator.
all plumbed with stainless line and -4an fittings
-10 feed line running from my surge tank to the water pump
-20an rad hoses and fittings for water pump
slp ls2 160* thermostat
i also made a new coolant over flow that sits along the engine bay wheel well line. just need to get a non pressurized cap machined next week and weld it on.

redid my oil catch can setup i made before, now have it mounted to the cylinder head
made a tubing structure to mount rad and oil cooler, just need to make a dimple die plate for the top of the 2 bars between the frame rails
rebuilt my steering rack and put new tie rod boots on it
circuit sport sway bar end links
spec v se-r brembo calipers and rotors now up front
think im gonna re do my intake setup now also since i have the rad pushed foward.

anyways, sure im forgetting some stuff but heres some pics.
