I've never seen the early S14 stated as a S14B on anything. I have seen S14a on alot of lists for the 97-98, but typically it's MCS14 (Minor Change S14).

They also never made a J's S14. The J's were base model coupes ( like our XE model coupes ), with no power options or sunroofs.

They also made the A's (Silvia Almighty) which was essentially a special edition Q's for the S13s.

Its not japanese but its probably worth noting that europe got the "200sx" hatchback from around 89 until 93 with the ca18de/t and then from 94-98 (I believe) switched to the s14 200sx with the sr20de/t.
I just mention that because the CA guys know that a lot of the ca motors that end up in the US are EDM.
Apparently they used the ca18det because the turbine outlet cleared the steering shaft in left hand drive cars (which they all were, if I'm not mistaken). I think that right hand drive cars were sold in england but I'm not sure if they were grey or Nissan.

All 200SXs in Europe are turbocharged.

The S13 SR20DET powerplant obviously clears the steering shaft as it's in 10 trillion S13's here in the US.

I think they used the CA for it's smaller displacement and slightly better fuel economy, but you could sit here all day and put forth explinations.

The 200SX was sold heavily in the UK by Nissan. It was sold in Germany as LHD. There are a handful of imported Silvias and 180SX's.

so if you wanna go zenki to kouki on a s14 everything will bolt up, if you have front bumper, hood, headlights, and fenders? or will you need to do some drilling.
and what about the taillights, will you need the rear bumper and trunk to convert to kouki?

The headlights should bolt right in from what I understand. You just need to replace the front bumper cover, fenders, hood, and headlights.

This information is all cool and all, but i'm kinda foggy on the USDM chassis codes. What years do they switch? I've fried FAQ and search but I couldn't find it. Is there a threat or sites with the specific chassis codes, engine codes, specs, changes midyear, etc, etc.... ??? Thanks.

Chassis code:
89-94 = S13 (came in Hatch, coupe) [verts only came about in 94]
95+ = S14 (coupes only)

Engines:
89-90 = KA24E
91+ = KA24DE

Vert = Convertable i.e. Droptop.

What was the code for the Sileighty?, I know in '94 we got the Vert, they got the damned Sileighty.
