So, I've had a few issues with the car. One is I did a coolant flush to get it ready for the cold since the car is from Texas and since I did it the car gets way too hot. It doesn't over heat it just get almost there. Two is the battery decided it didn't like being whole so it blew a hole in the bottom of it.

Since I can't drive the car I went to put my LSD in and while doing it one of welded in nuts on the front of the sub frame snapped off so the bolt would just spin. So I pulled out the sawsall and cut the bolt head off and got the diff out. So my plan is to cut a hole in the sub frame weld a new nut in there and then re-weld up the hole but that plan came to a stop when I realize I didn't have any cutoff wheels so that didn't get done today.

Well since I cant drive at all and it might be awhile before I can I stripped the front off(lights, fenders, hood, bumper). Once I was done with the stripping I decided to do some test fitting of some more D-Max stuff.

The wheels are 17x9 +30 with 225/45's and a 15mm spacer. So there's a little gap. Also there is only one bolt holding the fender on too. More to come tomorrow.

As unbelievable as it may sound, yes, that's how you are supposed to install those rear over fenders. Seeing that you are about to slap some rubber band thin 215/45 tires because of the lack of fender coverage, I think your horizon can be broaden just a tiny bit like those fenders.

no punt intended.

OK! So you come up into my build tread and tell me I'm doing it wrong and you give me pics like this of what you've done.

Now who's the one doing going wrong? I know how to put overs on, I've done plenty of times in the 11 years I lived in Japan. On this build I chose not to cut on my car (for personal reasons) and just pull the fenders. Also, whats so wrong with running a 215/45? I've been running 215/45's on my rims for the last at least 5 years and have been drifting, running gymkhana and using them as daily drivers and never had an issue.

And just so you here are a few pics of the way you should cut for overs.

So now get out of my build tread, Thank you!

I didn't do a whole lot this weekend. I had a 5 day weekend so I spent sometime with the family doing some sight seeing. We drove up to Featherville/Pine, Idaho just to see whats out there. But I did however got the whole front end mounted, lights and all. Too her for a little drive around the base to see how she felt and to break the LSD in from the fluid change. Then I stripped out the trunk today and removed all the nasty ziptied in carpet. I also finally figured out how and where I'm putting my hydro e-brake. I'll have pics you tomorrow.

Ok, I like I said here are some pics. This will be the last update for the next few weeks. I was scheduled to have surgery next month but they called me this afternoon and told me they could get me in tomorrow so I said sure. So I'll be laid up for a bit.

Some outside pics

Here is the trunk stripped nothing exciting.

While I was in the trunk I decided to go ahead and fix the "body work" the dumbass that had the car before me did(tape and bondo).

Welded

Bondo

Done(mostly)

Here are some pics of the hydro e-brake

Here is what I'm using as a handle

When I took her for a spin the other day I couldn't get into the driveway with my front bumper on so she was lifted 1/2 an inch and took out a little camber.

Well I hope this will hold y'all over till I can get back to it. While I'm laid up I'm gonna work on a lot of my pics I've taken with my Nikon D700. So I'll post some of those up.

My method is not pretty but it is functional and will fit 300+ mm width tires. I prefer function over your form of rubber band thin tires. What is the point of over fenders if you are going to use 215/45 tires? You might as well keep the metal fenders because stock rear fender can tuck 245 mm tires easily.

I only offered my two cents because I "THOUGHT" you were struggling with those fenders. Seeing it took me quite a while to figure out this trick. And I "THOUGHT" you could use some advise. But All I got was sarcasm and nothing else but hate..

I couldn't believe this forum is filled with people who cannot tolerate criticism or simple comment. Now, I will gladly get out of your build thread. Really, why are you bothering with a build thread if you are not looking for opinions from others to better your project?

Cheers.

Not a big update but I ordered an engine stand and welding helmet(because I wanted a new one) tonight. So when the stand gets here the SR will be unpacked and started to be put back together. Oh and by the way being on bed rest(couch rest) for 4 days sucks. I'm bored as shit, but I have to go back to work tomorrow which I'm not looking forward to.

Oh whats this? Stripped car? Dust? Could it be........ Why yes it is. I sanded the car down this evening to get it ready for some primer.

The rest of my stuff to get the rear overs on should be here in a few days. I'm still on doctors restrictions so I cant finish the E-brake right now. I should be able to get back to it soon. Well that's it for now.

Here you go! She is "almost" ready for the road.

I have the mirror left to paint. The rear overs should be ready to go on next weekend.

Here is Hydro E-Brake V1.0

I need to do some finish grinding and paint it.
