23 took forever to get the cam bolt in. the timing chain oil pressure tensioner was stuck all the way out, had to push it in with a big screw driver and rocked the crankshaft wheel back and forth till the stuff lined up. found a nother shreded rubber peice of the gromet in the chain.

UPDATE

so i get done with the rebuild, today i was atempting to get on the boost and the AFR is reading 10.2ish right as i go WOT. and drops into the high 14s, and then low 15s sometimes 16s as im around 5000 RPMs 10-13lbs of boost?!?!? wat the hell i hate the LEAN-NESS. the car gained 10-15HP form the gasket kit, can feel it outta boost. i pluged some more exhast leaks too. im thinking its got a vacume leak.

I don't really mess with KA stuff, much less single cam but here is a big deterrent towards anyone helping you.

A) You're pics are HUGE. Like annoying huge. Like i don't wanna read this thread or help you huge.
B) I have no clue what you're asking for help with
C) Are you in Hawaii? What happened to the Hawaii forum? There used to be a big one in 2008.

jackasspyro2 Its up in the air
fixing all the vac and exhuast leaks means your forcing more air into the more.which is why its running even leaner after teh rebuild

but that still doesnt account for why its running lean in the first place.have you checked fuel pressure?your fuel pump?injectors?or most importantly your tune??

Ok so here is the question that will fix your leanness. What does your setup consist of? 460cc Injectors, stock mafs and whats tuning this setup? A tune for NA engine vs. a turbo engine is totally different. It sounds like you have a NA tune not a turbo tune. This is what gives the Ka a bad reputation. Actually by fixing vaccum leaks your loosing less air. When air is lost in boost you will go richer since the maf has already calculated for that air flow. So by fixing the leaks you go leaner and also have more power to more pressure forced into the chambers.

Turbo tune should be:

Idle and cruise should be 14.7 to 15.4 or so afrs.
full boost at around at 10 psi should be around 11.5 to 12 afrs (more boost equals richer afrs on the fuel map)

Timing in full boost varies but most Ka tuners use 14 degrees in furthest load cells to handle up to 15psi.( not mechanical timing)

Ka-t.org is your friend go learn something about adding boost to your motor before you blow it up. The key to boosting a motor for reliability is in the tune. They didn't use some ungodly metal to build an sr they just tuned it correctly from the factory.

Oh and http://tinypic.com/ will help you post smaller pics.

update

so i did the gasket kit last week and this is what Ive learned since. i have hydralic (i cant spell) rocker arm ajusters,i think they need to be bled and ive been have weird experinces with my oil pressure. when i did the oil pan gasket (and not the head gasket yet) the oil pressure came up to 50psi at idle and 75+ above 3000rpm. now its back down, 25ish idle and barley 60psi in revs. also ive been driving it to work 4 days a week. during my 5mile commute i try to stay off boost but theres is lots of hills in hawaii. recently last 3days ill come past 0 vacume and car will loose LOTS of power. my AFR is reading 15+ in cruze, 14-18 in boost and studder, jurks back and forth and backfires 3foot FLAMES said my subbie owning friend. when this happens (passing people) ill let off gas and go to WOT and AFR reads 11.2 or less like its to rich, but this only happens 4 a fraction of a second, then gos back to 14-16s. but ill get to work parking lot and park set my human turbo timer, usually pic a good song and after ill shut it off. wile doing so the AFR reads 13.2 and low low 14s sometimes. my stock fuel pump is still in my car i think is going out cus idle is rich but not anything over 2000rpm. previous owner said i have a "BURNABLE CHIP" and that i should get a "Apexi AFC Neo". i need hlp!!!

you could get a rom tune for your setup, probably the cheapest way. you should get an aftermarket fuel pump like a walbro 255 lph
