A 650 Double Pumper is overkill on my engine already, i will probably have to get smaller jets.

C'mon man, look up some information before you jump to conclusions

There is a guy who did a small block chevy WITH IRON HEADS, T56 transmission, and a roll cage and his car weighed 2850lbs...The weight does not make a difference when you make DOUBLE the torque.
It will only be the weight difference from low gas to a full tank, there will be no way to "feel how heavy the engine is" I will be getting aluminum heads after a while. If you have full interior before the swap and then gut the car as much as i have, the weight comes very close to where it was.

I wasn't tryin to bash, just curious as to why u made the choices u did. And goin from flat to roller isn't that expensive. Retro fit lifters aren't that much and u would just have to buy a cam button and check for horiz play. and u can pick up single piece moly pushrods for cheap too. And I do know some info, I've got a sbc with aluminum heads and I know how much more the iron ones weigh compared to them. Another thing, 650 and 750 have nothing to do with fuel dispersion, only air flow. I know because to keep up with the fuel demands on my 350 I'm running 81 jets on all four corners. Oh and if u want some badass plugs, go with the E3 diamond fire plugs, I picked up almost a 1/2 a tenth when I switched to those vs the accel race plugs. Keep up with the good work bro!!! Definately looking forward to seeing this car running and driving. If u ever want or need sbc stuff lmk I might could help u out!!!

indeed AC Delco all the way on a chevy...some people trip because they're $8.00 a plug and aren't NGK, but AC Delco is the right choice for a pre-fuel injection chevy.

Do you honestly think that you are going to notice a handling difference?
If anything, the weight up front will make the car tighter and turn better with less oversteer until you hit the throttle just like the weight ballast does in a race car
yah 65 lbs isnt that much.

I can't tell u how many nitrous bottles I've run thru with those plugs with NO trouble. All that motor knows is all out cuz its strictly a race car. Oh and its a 10 second car runnin a sbc with a 150 nitrous setup runnin av100 LL. I bet I have close to 50 or more passes on those plugs and it just started slowing down in like the last 10 or so. Not to mention its fairly big rpm too....7k shift point.

Yeah 65 lbs is less than the weight of a turbo setup with intercoolerand piping.

AC Delco is the way to go for all GM vehicles, just to be safe. I have a 96 pickup and I just dropped a few hundred on AC Delco everything for a tune-up and AC job.

it doesn't matter, i bought AC Delco plugs for my engine in december
also, this is a drift car/daily driver, so there is no need to worry about nitrous and tenths of seconds
back to the build

ENGINE MOUNTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did a little brainstorming and traced out some engine mounts, I had those S10 v8 swap plates and traced them out onto some 1/4" steel plate. They have been cut out and that's it... We are going to grind them smooth and straight then tach them up for a mock-up into the car. Props to Sabastian for doin this for me.

UPDATE: I grinded my engine mount plates smooth today and tack-welded then together for a test fit...But i need to bore the bolt holes a little more before i can do my test fit. If they fit correctly tomorrow, i can hopefully get them welded up so i can grind them smooth and paint em'

*edit - By the way, those gold 15x8's i have are for sale

no, i have been waiting way too long to get to drive my car again and i am not going to delay it any further over some paint...
I will replace all the bushings, stitch weld the engine bay, and paint it after i save up some money to get another car once this one is running

haha ok

Yesterday i tack-welded the engine mounts together to do a test fit but i had to get my buddy to cut the bolt holes a hair larger so i had to wait till today to do it....
Remember this is just a test so not everything is perfectly lined up yet, the engine is hanging in there
Great success, heres some pictures
I used a roll of electrical tape as a test bushing...lololol

Remember those of you who said "Why paint the oil pan when you are never gonna see it".....

i garuntee a lot of that extra weight is behind the front axles very low to the ground. T56's ain't no paperweight.
