First documented LSX/T56 powered SC300!!!!

My swap finally took a huge leap today. As far as I know, and as far as the Lexus community knows, I have the first documented LS1/T56 swap ever. I was beat to the first LSX swap ever in and SC, but the other guy used an auto trans

But to keep it simple, a couple of pics:

pics1:

plenty of room

The shorty headers cleared the steering very nicely, but will be modding the passenger side to clear the DGR mount

random

again, plenty of room

Here is where the issues start with the t56:

This is sitting in first gear:

This is in reverse:

Still enough room for a larger sway bar:

DGR mounts, both sides:

I can finally use the STB that I have had for over a year sitting in my garage:

And final shot for the night:

Have plenty of work ahead with wires, PS plumbing, and some other minor things, but shouldnt be much longer. The INSTANT its ready to start, I will be sure to get a nice full HD 1080 video.

Thanks, hopefully everything from here goes smoother than trying to get the t56 to fit in the trans tunnel, but will be worth it in the end.

Yes, with the cam I have waiting for the new heads, paired with some boost, and larger injectors, the GT4088 I have is going to be perfect at 7psi. Should still have good street manners, but yield enough power that come track time....well, you get the idea

Looks very good. I wouldn't mind an LS powered car but I have zero patience now.

Thanks dekan...and my patience ran a bit short getting everything to fit. Plenty of room on the front side of the LS, but the back side and bell-housing gave me all kinds of hell.

Yea I hear that. I beat on my firewall for awhile to get the RB's starter hump enough clearance.

It should sit well in that bay, that car was offered with either a 2j or a v8. As far as the mount kit goes, I don't see why there would have to be more sc's. I'm pretty sure the mounts work the same on other 2j powered cars when u stuff a ls into it

2 other SC owners have done the swap, but both auto's, and only one is running and moving on its own.

^^As above, its been done, but never with the t56. And the mount kits werent made for the SC but instead for the 3G GS3/400, and they were never advertised, and the manufacturer shut down the production of them..IIRC, there are 3 mount kits left and there isnt another manufacturer that makes them.

The LS is actually physically shorter than the 1UZ, and isnt as tall from pan to manifold, so this actually yields a better f/r weight distribution. But now that I have started this build, I have several guys in the Lexus/SC community considering the swap.

But, everything from here is a cake walk. Just need to run a few wires, hook up some hoses, make sure the LS is getting the proper 12v/s sources, and start it up.

A/c will be staying, but its not on the top of the list for concerns at the moment.

There are currently 4 LSX GS's. This is the one that inspired my build:

The engine is simply the first step with my car. I have many more plans to come
