New guy from the Northside with pics

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself, and share my car with y'all.

This car belonged to my best friend. He and I got this car bone stock and started building on it about 10 years ago, and over the next 5 years got it to how it sits now. Well about 5 years ago my best friend passed away after a motorcycle accident and the car sat pretty much for the next 5 years in the family's barn in Minnesota. His family called me about a month ago and gave me an opportunity to accuire the car. Without hesitation I said yes, and booked a transport to pick it up and bring it down here to Houston. After all he and I built our friendship off this car, and we have many fond memories building and tuning it.

It has an sr20, that we built originally before doing the swap. Had eagle rods and je pistons, with some t3/t4 turbo I can't remeber which one. Well the pistons turned out being the ones that never had the groove machined out for the oil squirters, so the pistons broke them off, and about a year later ended up wiping out the pistons and rods do to lack of oil on the wrist pins.

So we ended up sending the engine down to mazworx. It now has carillo rods, proper je pistons, all balanced with the crank as well. Their stage 1.5 head (everything of the stage 2 head except the stage 2 port job) switched over to a gt3076r, fuel cell, Steel braided lines, Apexi power fc, 1 piece drive shaft, kaaz limited slip, tubular control arms, solid sub frame bushings, Megan racing shocks/coilovers, battery relocated, Z32 brakes, q45 throttle body, nismo 680 side feeds....pretty much everything.

So after getting the car it took about a week to get it up and running correctly. Well my friend never got to see the car on the dyno. He died the week before I was going to head back so we could dyno it. Last Thursday i put it on a dyno, and it made 368hp @ 23psi at a super fat 10.8afr and 11 degreas of timing. No doubt it would of picked up a lot more power if we leaned it out a bit but we couldn't log afr for some reason so we didn't want to push the boost, or fueling.

The last 4 days I've been driving the car, beating the snot out of it and it runs rides and drives like a champ. Even drug a few know quick demestics at a meet Friday night.

The plan is to get all the bodywork done and painted, as well as a big fuel pump, top feed injectors, aem ems, and e85 and let it eat. These were his plans, so that's what I'm going to continue to do.

Thanks for reading guys, I'll post some engine shots here in a bit.

Thanks alot!

Overall the body is straight but when you look down the sides you can see some dents and wrinkles in it. The hood, front fenders and bumper we repainted years ago with single stage paint. It's got orange peel like a mother. The roof was repainted professionally after the windshield was leaking due to rust. The trunk, underside of the car and engine bay have all been painted with por15. Which I'm glad we did, otherwise from sitting on a dirt floor, I'm sure it would of been rusted out on the bottom due to the moisture coming off the ground.

I'm going to get different wheels for it as well. Those ones on it look great, but the offset isn't right, and rubs the tires bad in the rear. Mostly on the ds. He was kinda mad about them poking out a lil like they do when we first mounted them up.

Ok!

Here's my personal bike, and a customers I built. Mine (on the left) made 428whp @ 23psi with a gt3071 turbo.

The other bike made 617whp with a twin scroll gt4098 @ 43psi. Both bikes were featured in the February 2013 issue of SSB.

Here's another one I'm currently building. It's using my spec head and cams, with a GTX3578R. I wouldn't be surprised if it makes over 700whp. Don't have any good pics of the kit on the bike. Still a work in progress.

The kit...

Thanks man, should have the turbo kit done by next weekend. Then it's down to running the fuel system and having a drive shaft then I should be able to start it.
