any mildly interesting stories?(240 related)

So it would be something that won't wow anyone, but something we all can relate too.

I'll go first

Last night a friends bike broke down at a restaurant. I drove to meet him only to find his battery was dead. Luckily for him the only tools I had on me were some jumper cables. So i made sure to turn my kar off and hook the cables up to let his bike charge (for bike to kar jump you shouldn't have the kar one. It could overheat the motorcycles electronics if you weren't aware) in the short time it took to get him a charge people kept coming up to us and saying things like

"wow don't you think a truck would work better for a jump? *points to bike, thinking the kar is the dead one*"

"jeeze looks like times are tough for you, bad enough that you must have been in one hell of an accident and now your kar is dead. Would you like a jump? (due to my multicolored body panels...over fenders and "cool" stuff)"

or my favorite was "well I am a girl in a Mercedes and I can tell you you're doing it wrong. Bikes can't jump kars dummy. Thankfully I can help you out if you don't make mine gross."

.......literally everyone thought my kar was the problem...but it runs great....sad sad times. haha

A guy asked me what car he should get to start drifting with, I told him a 240....

o that's just wrong.

That story made me laugh so hard. Cause I know exactly what you mean.

Lived in Pasadena and drove an 87 Monte ls with 2 showtime pumps and 8 deep cycle battiers in the trunk. Seen a family stranded and needed a jump. So I jump out with my Santa Claus hat in the middle of July and backed the car up to there hood and looked at me like I was about to rob them and stuff then in the trunk. People can be so judgemental. And the car was all 1 color black. With 13' cragars.

I could write a book

Can we just take a moment to review, I've never owned a s-chassis ever. Like, full on owned one.

I had a z31 for a while, it was cool but a little too 80s for me

cypresswood240 08-29-2016 05:55 PM

Chase are you in Mississippi?

PacS14 08-29-2016 06:32 PM

Everytime I drove somewhere be it McAllen, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, etc in my 240 people usually at gas stations people would ask me if I drifted my car, now my car always had the stock height, initially stock wheels, and stock exhaust, I would always just tell them that I like driving my car and keeping it one solid color, lol they would always be disappointed is like they expected me to be the fast and furious drift King lmao

Not yet, I'm actually going to New Jersey on the 3rd, then going to New Orleans for 3 weeks and then I'll finally be in Mississippi.

Oh I love them, not to down a s-chassis or anything, but I feel they're a little better quality of a car than a 240. (Just my opinion of course). But I've owned a ton of different type of cars, just never really owned a s-chassis.

XMcEvilson 08-30-2016 09:37 PM

yeah they're definitely built higher quality, they were a higher price bracket.

z31dude 08-31-2016 01:34 PM

Which is funny, because now s-chassis are more expensive

XMcEvilson 08-31-2016 07:03 PM

yeah supply & demand. too bad I didn't keep some of those hoopty s13s I had back in the day

right! I have had one as my main squeeze. That has always been and will never change, but I have been through a few that I took parts off then sold cheap and were in stellar shape. They would be worth a small fortune now with all this drift tax. Such a shame.

Remember that time you could pick up a full ka for 200 bucks... that's what vg's go for now... I need to buy a few z31 before they start to sky rocket in the South.

rawgarage 09-01-2016 05:17 PM

Z31 prices will never be shit tho

z31dude 09-01-2016 05:57 PM

Well, it's already showing a spike in value farther up north. It's really miss and hit with the z31. I've seen some cars i wouldn't pay more than 1k for, go for 5k. But then again, I've seen some I'd pay 3k for, sell for a few hundred bucks.

jackasspyro2 09-01-2016 07:52 PM

That stuff just reminds me of ae86s...i never ever understood why they took off like they did. Sure initial d was cool in all...but really....does it justify the cost that much? Really really really when we get down to it is a stock 86 that good a kar..

dragonWraith 09-01-2016 08:35 PM

Whoa stock is such an ugly word.

XMcEvilson 09-01-2016 09:12 PM

From what I've heard, you just hold the gas pedal to the floor, it slides and it's fun.

dragonWraith 09-02-2016 01:16 AM

And there is little difference between usdm and Jdm. Plus 51/49 weight split is impressive for an fr layout

z31dude 09-02-2016 01:47 AM

I kinda really want to buy a ls car soon. Like a trans am, or a gto or something like that.

Idk..i just don't enjoy things that have less power than my bike. Maybe I am just asking for too much in that respect
