how hard is it to insall a short shifter

depends on the brand you get.
most are really easy since you just pull out your stock shifter and replace w/the SS
the b&m on the other hand - takes more time since you gotta get under your car

B&M and it's knockoffs (I've heard they're actually pretty good) are the easiest, as the shifter / plate assembly is one piece.

1) remove shift knob
2) remove shift boot and trim
3) remove rubber insulator boot
4) unbolt 6 shift plate bolts, two frontmost bolts might be challenging

getting to these bolts might require you to loosen your tranny mount

... installation is the opposite

The C's and its knockoffs will require you to disassemble the shift plate

you might not even have to get underneath your car to get to the two bolts in the front. I just used a short box wrench.

I've done that, too ... that scuffed my hands up pretty well :cool
