I was just wondering what is involed with swapping a SOHC head with a DOHC head.

will the DOHC head fit on the E block?
if so what would have to change with it?
ecu & harness?
I have a ka24e (109,xxx) in my car that im keeping.
and a ka24de (243,xxx) in my beater/parts car

or should i just wait for my new engine to get here? :dunno
if it would be even a minor pain in teh ass tell me, cause i'd rather wait for teh Real Beast to arrive .
thats a pain i wont mind.... :evil :devillook

Well, not necessarily a waste of time, but I doubt anyone in houston, or texas for that matter has much experience doing it. You might need to do some research on NICO in the KA forum. I've seen a few threads pertaining to it, with many pictures.

But if I recall correctly, you have to change intake and exhaust manifolds, distributor, ecu and harness, and a bunch of other stuff.

You also need to fabricate something for the upper timing chain cover. It turns out that the lower ka24e cover and upper ka24de cover don't align, so you need to make something to connect them.

It may or may not be worth it, but for 11:1 compression and an extra exhaust valve, why not?
