what would i need to do a complete engine rebuilt. What are some things i can do to get more power. I know bore and stroke and what else can i do to make more power and also let motor last longer. any suggestions would help. thanks

okay 1st question. what engine? Should I assume it s KA? (SR, CA, RB, VG, VQ, VH, LS1?)

I understand its a general question, but you can get a more specific answer if we know which engine exactly. (and possibly how much power wanted)

oh yeah it's Ka24de and anything more than stock.

if you plan on staying n/a then up the compression via pistons, bore and stroke. other wise, just get better pistons, rods, head gasket and studs for the bottom end. keep in mind that most bottom end rebuilds arent gonna add much power or any power at all. you gotta do shit to the head for that.

dont waste your time with all motor ka, put it back together, buy some pistons, and put a turbo on it.

seriously, dont waste your time with all motor ka. either put some cams on it and some bolt ons and call it a day, but dont waste your time with much else, maybe a slight bore, but seriously, if your gonan spend 500 bux on cams, 300 bux on a header and exhaust your 500 bux away from just doing a damn ka-t, and you wil have 2-3x the power. think about it.

IDK about 3x the power, but 2x might be close ;)

you can easily get 3x the power with pistons in the motor if you know what you're doing.

but yeah on a basic ka-t build its more like 2x the power.

ka-e's can be made to be nice N/A beasts...
their heads are a alot better for an n/a platform. the ka-de has the more direct tappet(bucket) system. however, this limits you from running crazy aggressive cams with it. its all about what you want to do.
