there are a handful of shops in the houston area that could do that swap for you but id go to the one that will let you learn about what you are getting into as well.....(maybe help with the swap and tell you what things are). its always good to know your car inside and out.

This is true

Well, you can go to a shop, but Silverline is more then capable for that kind of job, same with Initial What I'm sure.

However if you insist on a shop I would suggest SGP Racing or
Light Speed.

speed fetish has the best prices in town as far as a reputable shop fyi. or at least they did (and by a good margin) a couple months ago.

Any competent shop can do it because the swap is easy as hell. The only hurdle is the wiring. My sister spotted me while I dropped the SR in mine a few years back.

what he said.. if you get the wiring done the rest you can handle. Trust me. If you can work a wrench then you have it maid.

ROK! So, what about those of you with the swap that still use the cat, are you guys meeting the emissions requirements?

Well, the car is registered in trinity county (tx) right now and they have no emissions but I have heard that all of Texas will be testing emissions within the next few years. I have read a few posts on other forums where people was running sr20det and one of the rb series (can't remember which) and was passing california emissions tests.

Yeah, but they are completely restricted as much as they can.
Also in some cases the way they can detune a car helps so I've heard.

I live in College Station, TX. We don't have emissions they just check for a cat. I have some sheet metal welded around my test pipe looks like a cat, so I pass.
Plus I've got a sticker hook up :)!
